iCircuit is the premier iPad and iPhone app for designing and experimenting with circuits and Arduinos. Its advanced simulation engine can handle both analog and digital circuits and features realtime always-on analysis. It is the perfect companion to students, hobbyists, and engineers.

You use it as you would any CAD program: you add elements, connect them together, and set their properties.

But iCircuit is unlike other CAD programs because it is always simulating. Its just like working with the real circuit. You do not stop to take a measurement or spend a lot of time configuring reports. Instead, you just play with the circuit as you normally would, with the power on!

There are over 300 elements you can use to build your circuits. The app has everything from a programmable Arduino, to simple resistors, to switches, to MOSFETS, to digital gates.

The app features a multimeter that you use to probe around the circuit to instantly read voltages and currents. If you want to see how a value changes over time, then you can add values to the built-in oscilloscope. The scope can simultaneously track many signals over time and features a touch interface to control the total time displayed and stacked and unstacked modes to easily compare signals. The scope can also display the Fourier transform of any signal so that you can see the performance of filters.

Supported elements include:

• Programmable Arduino using a subset of the C programming language
• Programmable PIC controllers using assembly language or hex files
• Signal generators, Voltage sources, Current sources, and Dependent sources
• Resistors, Capacitors, and Inductors
• Manual SPST/SPDT and DPST/DPDT Switches, Push buttons, and Relays
• LEDs, Diodes, BJ Transistors, and MOSFETs, Thermistors
• Triodes and tetrodes
• Audio simulation with Speakers, Microphones, Buzzers, and LEDs
• DC Motors and Servos
• ADCs, and DACs
• Logic gates: AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XOR
• JK and D Flip-flops
• 180 digital ICs from the 4000 and 7400 series
• 78xx and LM317 voltage regulators
• 7-segment and matrix displays
• Antenna with simulated AM and FM signals

You can also create sub circuits to introduce new elements and componentize your designs.

No matter your skill set, youll be playing with circuits in no time with iCircuit.

Pros and cons of iCircuit app for iPhone and iPad

iCircuit app good for

A Few things are missing : The X-Y mode of the scope The possibility to do a frequency analysis (bode diagrams) And a spectra mode ? Thank you
64 bits, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus support, now the app its perfect and fully of functionality !!! Thank you a lot !!!
Sometimes it crashes and go to background mode, but it still works!
iCircuit is a wonderful app to build up electronic circuits. It has most of the common components to set up simple circuits and lots of tools to enquire currents and voltages along points in your circuit. Of course it is not a professional tool, but it is excellent for students and hobbysts alike, and it is worth the $10 that the author is asking. Minor annoyances are the difficulties to manipulate components using fingers,I would love to have a mouse instead. Other weak point is the manual that could be better. I still could not figure out how to use the osciloscope and the manual did not help it.
How could they use sliders to choose precision values?? This take all the time to draw a new circuit, try to catch the exact value that you want in the slider...
This is a very good and easy to use application. It makes lots of fun to work with it. As I always say: Nothing is perfect but can be improved. My suggestions for improving some parts: # When a object is marked the "Meter" windows shows up and it happens that it is disturbing whilst placing, replacing or changing objects. Here a solution which dis- /enables the "Meter" would help. A botton for the "Meter" on top would be fine. # When the user switched the ICE symbol on then the symbols should be ICE in the bottom objects list aswell. # The "text lable" should be advanced to give a new line when pressing return. # A "note pad" should be integrated so that you are able to write comments or making notes. # The manual should be integrated into the app to use it when offline. And here it is essential that all symbols and the parts of symbols are discribed. E.g. on resistors are a square connector and a round one which is the essential one? # A "libruary" with the most popular resistance, capacitors, diodes etc. could help with drawing up. E.g. 1N4148 Diode which value is right? This would give the user more time to work then to check which value is required. # Now iCloud this is a must have when you provide apps for all devices. # Add a zoom in/ out option and the option to show the full plan on the screen as in good CAD apps.

Some bad moments

I have messaged support more then once because when I try to open the scope the entire app shuts down. It has been like this for months. I got one response saying "look here for updates" but have never heard anything back even after follow up messages. Worse app Ive ever used.
On iPhone 4S, if you change something in the circuit then open the scope, the app usually crashes. Otherwise its fantastic.
There is no fuse, no battery, parallel DC source not work correctly ( it give an error ) need to ad some more IC chip.
Do not purchase. Couldnt get an AC to DC power supply to work. Pulsing from zero with a large cap after the bridge?!... Garbage.
This app would be amazing if the touch interface worked. Zooming in and out and moving components around us a nightmare on my laptop and even worse on my iPhone. Its slightly improved when I use my mouse but still pretty crappy.
This app is mostly very good and did crash often, but now it just crashes upon launch. Please update ! Im using iPad Air 2 128Gb so not a hardware issue.

Usually iCircuit iOS app used & searched for

circuit, arduino, cad drawing, and other. So, download free iCircuit .ipa to run this nice iOS application on iPhone and iPad.
